Fees and General Terms and Conditions

Grind Fees 2019-2020

1. Carlow Tutorial College employs experienced Teachers.

2. We provide One to One grinds and Group Grinds:

– One to One Grinds  – €45/hr

 – Group Grinds (€20/hr in a group of 10 or more and €25/hr in a group of 5 or more).

3. Fees for grinds are payable in advance to the Office Administrator.

4. As and from Monday 4th Nov 2013 students or parent/guardians wishing to cancel a grind must do so at least 12 hours in advance of the grind taking place otherwise a cancellation fee of €15 will apply.

 General Terms and Conditions For Grinds

1. Payment entitles the student to attend one grind weekly.

2. Grinds during holiday periods, i.e. Christmas/Easter and Mid Term Breaks are by arrangement with the Director of Education.

3. Please note only The Director of Education may change the grind periods. Please contact the Administrator for details.

4. It is the responsibility of Parents/Guardians to notify the College if a student is not attending a scheduled grind.

5. Tuition does not include practicals/fieldwork.

6. All fees are payable in advance.

7. Fees are payable to the College Manager/Administrator or Director of Education.

8. Students may join Grinds at any point in the year.

9. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

11. Carlow Tutorial College reserves the right to cancel any class. Should this happen, fees for the cancelled classes will be refunded.

Supervised Study Fees 2019-2020

 *A flat rate of €2.00/hour applies to supervised study.  

Students can avail of up to 28 hours of supervised study Monday to Saturday.

1. Carlow Tutorial College employs only trained Study Supervisors.

2. The Director of Education or College Manager/Administrator will be on site at all times.

3. Carlow Tutorial College applies a flat charge of €2.00 per hour for Students availing of Supervised Study on Fridays and Saturdays payable in advance to the College Manager/Administrator.

4. Payment options are outlined below.

4.1 Full Year Fee is €325.00.

                4.2 Term Fee: September – December 2019 – €150.00

4.3 Term Fee: January – May 2020 – €175.00

4.4 Monthly Fee: – €40.00.

4.5 €2 per hour for Students studying on Fridays and Saturdays Only

or €5 for the study period.

General Terms and Conditions for Supervised Study

1: Please note that acceptance into Supervised Study will be subject to an interview with the Director of Education and/or College Manager. It is College Policy to interview students in the presence of a parent or guardian regardless of age.

2: The College Authorities reserve the right to withdraw the offer of a place in study at any stage during or following the application or interview process.

3: Payment can be made in one of 3 ways: Full Year Fee, Term Fee OR spread the payment over 9 Monthly Payments of €40/month.

3.1 The Full Year Fee is €325.00. 

3.2 The Term Fee for September to December is €150 and from January to May is €175*

3.3 The Monthly Fee is €40.00*

3.4 A Non-Refundable Booking Deposit of €40 is payable upon acceptance into study. This deposit is off set against your first payment.

*(Term and Monthly fees include Supervised Study during Mid Term Breaks, Christmas and Easter holidays).

4: Monthly Fees must be paid within one week of fee notification. Term Fees are paid in advance of each term. Failure to pay on time will result in immediate loss of place in Study.

5: Students are not permitted to smoke in the College environs.

6: Students are expected to have due regard for the residents of Burrin Street and not engage in, initiate or support loud or aggressive behaviour of any description that could be construed as disruptive or destructive.

7. Students who require a break during study may sign out for 1 hour (at 6-7pm) and then sign back in again provided that the student is studying for 3 hours or more in the College. This break will take place outside the College. Breaks are not permitted for 5th years or Junior Certs.

8. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to notify The College if for any reason a student is not attending for study.

9. Attendance records are kept and Parents/Guardians will be notified upon request if a student does not attend study.

10 Students are required to dress and behave appropriately in the College environs. The dress code is School Uniform or Smart Casual. The wearing of shorts is strictly forbidden. 

11. Students are expected at all times to abide by the Study Hall Rules,

      11.1 No Food Permitted

      11.2 No Snacks Permitted

      11.3 No Soft Drinks Permitted

      11.4 Keep Your Study Area Clean and Tidy and free of discarded paper, pencil parings etc.

12. Students are expected to maintain the toilets in a clean and sanitary condition. Please report to reception if the Toilet lacks toilet paper, liquid soap or hand towels.
